BONUS: THE SOLDIER FIELD EXPERIENCE

On a Sunday during the scheduled season, all games for that weekend are played at Soldier Field, weather permitting

Tiny Flag is not included in the Soldier Field Experience. 

Do You Take Friend Requests?

YES! TEAM AND FRIEND REQUESTS ARE AVAILABLE UPON REGISTRATION. (Based on age brackets and number of kids per team.) We do our best to accommodate all requests.YOU MUST request teams/friends in the registration form or you will not be guaranteed to be together. 

What Are The Football Age Brackets?

Tiny Flag: Pre-K-K

Youth Co-Ed Flag: 6 on 6: 1/2 Grade, 3/4 Grade, 5/6 Grade

Boys 7 on 7: 7th-8th Grade (ONE-HAND TOUCH, NOT FLAG)

Boys High School: 9th-12th Grade  (ONE-HAND TOUCH, NOT FLAG)

Girls 6 on 6 Flag: 3rd-5th Grade, 6th-8th Grade

Girls 7 on 7 High School Flag: 9th-12th Grade

When Are Football Practices?

We rely on volunteer coaches in order to have a successful season. Practice dates, times and locations are decided by Head Coaches. Before the season starts, coaches will reach out to get availability of the team in order to schedule practices. Usually there will be 2 or 3 practices before the first game and then once a week during the season. 

When will I hear from my Coach and get the game schedule? 

Rosters will be finalized in the beginning of April. Coaches meeting and equipment hand out will be scheduled that week. You should hear from coaches after that. I will send email updates as it gets closer. Practices will be scheduled the week before the first games and the game schedule will be released by April 15th. I appreciate your patience as I try to accommodate over 40 teams and finalize season details.

 

Tiny Flag: No additional practices included. Sessions are 20 minutes of practice, followed by 20 minute scrimmage on Sundays.

Do Spring Volunteer Coaches Receive Reimbursement?

Yes, head coaches receive $40 reimbursement at the end of the season after all equipment bags, flags and footballs are returned. If equipment is not returned or footballs/flags are missing, no reimbursement is issued. 

What Equipment Does My Athlete Need?

Game shirts are included. Athletes can wear gym shoes or molded cleats. Mouth guards are mandatory for High School Athletes and highly recommended for all athletes. Football gloves are optional. Team Zone provides footballs and flags. All athletes must use the flags provided by Team Zone. 

What Size Footballs Do You Use?

1st-2nd Grade: Peewee

3rd-4th Grade: Junior

5th-6th & 7th-8th Grade:Youth

9th-12th Grade Boys: Official 

9th-12th Grade Girls: Youth

6th-8th Grade Girls: Youth

3rd-5th Grade Girls: Peewee

Do You Offer Any Discounts?

Team Zone is committed to providing a unique, memorable and fun experience for all athletes. We are also committed to keeping prices affordable for families. 

 

  • SIGN UP early and save with Early Bird Discount Pricing (Good through March 1st) OR
  • Save 10% off a sibling registration (Not applicable with early bird discount or Tiny Flag) 
  • High School Boys 7 on 7 and Girls High School Flag: Save $150 by signing up an entire team of 10 athletes (Additional athletes pay $185 each – up to 15) Fee is $1,850 to register a team
When Is The Registration Deadline?

The registration deadline is March 19. However, we have space for a limited number of teams. So, depending on how fast spots fill, registration for certain age brackets may close before the March 19 deadline. In order to secure your spot, register early. Some levels end up with a wait list. 

How Many Kids Are On A Team?

We are dedicated to making sure all kids get in the game and have a lot of playing time! Youth 6 on 6=12 max. 7 on 7=15 max

If My Child Has Never Played Flag Football Can They Participate?

Yes, we have athletes who have played for many seasons and those who are new to flag football! All are welcome to play and learn. Teams do not always have the same level of talent and this is a competitive league. Team Zone does not hold tryouts and does not know the talent level of each team. We encourage all coaches and players to display good sportsmanship at all times. 

I Don't Know My Child's Schedule For Other Sports Yet But I'm Worried Spots Will Fill Up So I Want To Register. What Is Your Refund Policy?

9We realize that family schedules can be chaotic and ever-changing! If you register and cannot participate and request a refund (BEFORE March 19) you will receive a refund minus a $50 processing fee. After March 19, refunds are not applicable. We do this because once rosters are set, it’s hard to make changes and if there are wait lists, we would like to accommodate athletes before March 19.  

I Ordered The Wrong Game Shirt Size For My Athlete, Can You Order Me A New One?

  • We are committed to keeping prices affordable and do to our budget, Team Zone can only provide 1 shirt per athlete. If the wrong shirt size is submitted during registration, the parents will be responsible for paying for an additional shirt = $25 (if an extra order can be placed)

Are You Offering Tiny Flag Football In The Spring For The Pre-K/K Age Group?

  • 9-9:45am
  • 20 minutes of practice, followed by a 20 minute scrimmage

The Pre-K/K age group will not be part of the Soldier Field Experience.
